In our combined 50+ years’ experience in the pageant and beauty industries, one as a former Miss Universe and the other, a former marketing executive for the Miss Universe Organization and Ford’s Supermodel of the World program, we believe in the positive power of pageantry. Together, we have encountered thousands of young women across the globe who have participated in beauty contests of various sizes, goals and platforms. Whether the objective is to step outside one’s comfort zone and into the spotlight, challenge oneself to become more physically fit, parlay the experience into a real-world career or simply for the thrill of the competition, pageants continue to be a wonderful way to showcase beauty, culture, poise, talent and goodwill. We are devoted to sharing the success stories of past winners and to helping other young women create fabulous stories of their own.

Our Mission...

The Business of Beauty exists to promote the positive power of pageantry.  Because of our many, unique and wonderful experiences – on both sides of the camera – we have seen the amazing ways pageants can transform lives.  Pageantry is a remarkable part of the beauty industry that, like the Olympic Games, brings beautiful and exotic young women from various countries, backgrounds and cultures together in the name of friendly competition.  Friendships, mutual understanding and once-in-a-lifetime experiences are a happy by-product of participating in these events.

Pageantry is so much more than simply donning a swimsuit and sashaying down a runway.  For so many young women it is a way to build self-confidence, improve social and presentation skills and is often a stepping stone to other professions in beauty industry-related fields.  It is our desire, not only to help individual young women compete to the best of their abilities, but to discover their own distinctive skills and passions to create meaningful and long-lasting careers.

In addition, it is the aim of the Business of Beauty to shine a light on the myriad accomplishments of the beautiful, strong and creative women who have participated in beauty pageants.  These women have gone on to run corporations, start charities, hold political office, create products, become doctors, foreign correspondents, race car drivers, mothers, magazine editors and even Bond girls.  It’s time for the world to know what beauty queens can do!

APPEARANCE PACKAGES

The Business of Beauty offers several appearance packages designed to benefit not only the pageant participant, but the pageant director and program sponsors as well. In our combined experiences, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes marketing live, primetime television events, we understand the importance of supporting the whole pageant program. In addition to helping young women perform at their very best, we are here to help build each individual pageant brand, enhance corporate relationships and attract positive media attention to these wonderful events and to the pageant industry in general. We’re here to #MakePageantsGreatAgain!
